About Damien:
Damien is my second born, he is currently one year old. Damien is another budding reader and spends a huge amount of every day paging through every book he can get his hands on.
He also loves his flash cards and intently watches every time I get out some new words or math cards. He has a special fascination with animals, and loves to learn the sound of things, including animal sounds, object sounds, and letter sounds.
He is a very active little boy and has been moving around on his hands and knees and since four months, crawled in a cross pattern on his hands and knees at five months, pulled to standing at six months, took a few tentative steps at nine months, walked at ten months, and has been “running” since eleven months. Now he climbs all over everything and constantly keeps me on my toes. He also loves to swim without help underneath the water.
He said his first words at four months and has been talking ever since. At his current age of 13 months he has about a 20 word vocabulary, which he uses when he wants to, and knows about a dozen American Sign Language signs.
His personality is curious, mobile, and sweet. He is very serious when he is reading or concentrating on figuring something out, but is a complete joker when he is playing. He has a stubborn side to him and lets his desires be known. He is deathly shy but will warm up to you after a few days, although he is still a total mama’s boy. He is also contagiously happy. For a while I thought I just lucked out having such a happy first born, but now I think I might be up to something.
