Hunter Learning How to Blow a Bubble

Have you ever tried to explain to a little kid how to blow a bubble with bubble gum?

Hunter has been asking me for the longest time, with intense fascination and curiosity, how to blow bubbles. It is not exactly the easiest thing to show and/or explain to someone how to do.

(Especially when that person is three years old, which is when he started asking me).

Yet finally, randomly the other day he sort of just figured it out.

Here are some of his first (semi-successful) attempts.

Whether learning how to blow bubbles with bubble gum or solve cube roots, it is definitely not all serious business in this house.

"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning..."
Proverbs 1:5

Hunter is 5 years, 10 months old

  1. We had the same experience :-) ( My son is your sons' age. It's so cute to observe their stubbornes (in a good sense of course) and persistency with certain aspects of life. Hunter is realy a smart boy who deserves a loving brother ;-). Kisses from Poland.Ewa

  2. Yes, it is so much fun to watch kids figure stuff like this out and their often admirable persistence. Thanks for your comment!

  3. Wow! I love seeing you and Hunter and reading or viewing about your days together! I've really missed the updates to the blog, I hope you have a health baby and safe delivery!

(Does Hunter know about the baby? Have you explained the "how or why" behind pregnancy? I'm interested in seeing how a "Doman Family" does it) lol.

Would you mind doing a post on what you guys are doing schoolwise and what are your plans for when you have the baby and right after?

How is Jones Genuises Math Working out for you guys?

  4. Oh my, and thank you, I have missed my blog updates myself! It has been a busy time these last few weeks and hopefully I will be able to write updates about all these things fairly soon!

Hunter has definitely been enjoying the pregnancy, we try to be matter-of-fact about it all and we have been explaining the stages of fetal development from the start. It is a little more "real" for him now that I am actually showing, he can see/feel the baby moving, and knows that the baby can see light and hear sound (he therefore talks to him a lot).

JG math has been going really well but not as quickly as I had hoped (just due to my lack of consistency and our crazy schedule) but nonetheless all still really well and we are both excited about it, even with my lack he is still progressing amazingly fast and loving math.

Will plan to blog more about all these topics soon but, thanks for your interest and encouragement, it is always nice to get feedback and know that there is someone reading what you write!
