When I started blogging almost two years ago, I named the blog “World’s Best Education”. Subtitle: “Life with a Preschooler”.
The idea behind the name was that was that parents, not professionals, are the best teachers for their children (specifically in the early years), and can give their children the best education the world has to offer.
I liked the meaning behind the name, but felt like the title without background information could be misinterpreted and come off as arrogant. That is, that someone might think I was trying to say that “I” had found the “best way in the world to educate” every child.
In reality the idea was not about the method used but rather about the relationship – the power and magic of parents and children, learning together.
Nonetheless, no one likes misunderstandings. And that certainly wasn’t a first impression misunderstanding I would want people to have upon coming to my blog.
The new name was originally going to be the blog title – Life with a Preschooler – but considering that next summer Hunter will be in kindergarten (yikes! That’s a crazy thought) I decided to simply go with Gentle Revolution Homeschooling. GR Homeschooling will serve as our homeschool blog for years to come, both in homeschooling Hunter, and homeschooling future our future children based on Glenn Doman’s Gentle Revolution.
